What's New and What's Next at Daikin Northeast

We are writing to provide an update to share publicly available developments regarding the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (“NYSDEC”) regulations (6 NYCRR Part 494) as they relate to the purchase and sale of bulk R-404A and R-507A.

We want to inform our refrigeration customers of an upcoming enforcement change affecting the sale of certain refrigerants in New York State. Under New York State Department of Environmental Conservation regulations (6 NYCRR Part 494), the sale of high GWP (global warming potential) refrigerants is being restricted in the State of New York. As a result, Daikin Comfort Technologies Northeast, Inc. (Daikin Northeast) will no longer be permitted to sell virgin refrigerants R-404A or R-507A from any of our New York State branches beginning April 1, 2026. These virgin refrigerants will remain available for purchase in New York State only through March 31, 2026.
